Security

Account and access signals for the school, so leadership can see who is signing in and from where.

What it shows

  • Sign-in history — recent logins with time and method.
  • Unusual activity — sign-ins that stand out from the pattern, such as a new device or an unexpected hour.
  • Failed attempts — repeated failures against an account, which is the earliest sign of a password being guessed or a device misconfigured.

What it is for

Most school data problems are access problems rather than technical ones: a teacher who left still holding an active account, a shared login used by several people, a parent account attached to the wrong child. This screen is where those become visible.

If something looks wrong

  1. A teacher or staff account — have School Admin reset the password and confirm the account's role in the Staff Roster.
  2. A parent account — check it is linked to the right children; a mis-linked parent sees another family's data.
  3. Repeated failures you don't recognise — reset the password and check the account isn't shared.

Report anything you can't explain rather than working around it. Access problems that get worked around tend to stay.

Empty states

  • No sign-ins recorded yet — the school is newly set up.
  • Nothing unusual — the normal case.

Note

This screen reads the same data as School Admin → Security. Neither console can see another school's activity.
