Assessments

Every assessment set across the school — exams, class tests and homework — with submission and score figures as they come in.

The list

ColumnWhat it means
AssessmentTitle, as the teacher set it.
ClassWhich class sits it.
TypeExam, quiz or homework.
TeacherWho set it.
DueWhen it closes.
SubmittedHow many students have submitted.
AvgAverage score so far.

Two counters sit above the table: Submitted across the school, and Class average.

Filter by class to follow one teacher's assessment cycle end to end, rather than reading the whole school at once.

Opening an assessment

Clicking a row opens the assessment detail:

  • Submitted / Still to submit — how many are in, and who is missing.
  • Class average and Score spread — the distribution, which is more informative than the mean. A class averaging 60 with a tight spread is a different problem from one averaging 60 with a tail at zero.
  • Lowest scores — the students to follow up first.

Two actions live here:

  • Swap invigilator — when the person due to supervise can't, reassign without cancelling the assessment.
  • Close assessment — ends submission. Students can no longer submit once it is closed.

Reading averages carefully

An average taken over three submissions out of thirty tells you about three students, not the class. Check Submitted against the class size before treating a figure as a class result.

Empty and error states

  • No assessments yet — nothing has been set this term.
  • Nobody has submitted yet — the assessment is open but no work has arrived.
  • Couldn't load assessments — the request failed; refresh.

Note

The report builder and class/subject/topic reports reachable from here open a Coming soon screen. The assessment list and detail are live.
