Calendar

The school calendar: term dates, exams, meetings, sports fixtures and holidays in one month view.

What appears

Events come from three places:

  • School events — anything announced by the school office or by you.
  • Assessments — exams and tests set by teachers, so they sit on the same grid as everything else rather than in a separate schedule.
  • Personal entries — where an event was created for one person.

A filter toggle hides or shows assessments, which is useful when the month is crowded with exams and you want to see only the school's own dates.

Announcing an event

Announce an event creates a calendar entry and notifies the school. It is the quickest way to put a date in front of everyone — quicker than a bulletin when the content is simply this is happening on this day.

For anything that needs explanation, use School Bulletins instead and let it reference the date.

Why the calendar matters operationally

It is the only screen where term structure and assessment load are visible together. A month with three exam weeks and a sports day is a month where teachers will ask for cover; seeing it in advance is the difference between planning and reacting.

Empty states

  • Nothing this month — the month is clear.
  • No events yet — the calendar has never been used for this school.

Note

Times are school-local (Africa/Lusaka). An event created abroad still displays in the school's timezone, so a date won't drift.
