Attendance

Who has signed in to Asai, and who hasn't. This is engagement with the platform, not a marked class register — the school has no register in the product yet.

That distinction matters every time you read a figure here. A student at Not yet today may be sitting in class; they simply haven't logged in.

Today

Four groups across the top:

  • In today — signed in already.
  • Signed in — the same count, shown per role.
  • Not yet today — expected but not seen yet.
  • Away 7+ days — no sign-in for a week or more.

The last group is the one worth acting on. It is the closest thing the platform has to a genuine absence signal, because a student who has stopped opening Asai for a week is unlikely to be studying with it.

Weekly trend

A percentage line across recent weeks, so you can see whether engagement is drifting rather than judging a single day. No weeks with data yet appears until there is a full week to plot.

By grade

A table of Grade, Not yet, Away and Rate — the place to spot one grade falling behind the rest. Everyone's in appears when a grade has no absences at all.

Staff attendance

The same measure for teachers and support staff, shown separately. Cover problems usually appear here first.

Cover needed today

Where the staffing gap has already been matched to classes: staff away, and the cover to arrange. No cover to arrange means nothing is outstanding.

Empty and error states

  • No students yet / No staff yet — nobody on the roster to measure.
  • No weeks with data yet — not enough history to draw a trend.
  • Couldn't load attendance / Couldn't load staff — the request failed; refresh.

What this screen will become

A marked register — present, absent, late, with reasons — is planned but not built. Until it exists, treat every number here as platform engagement and corroborate anything serious with the class teacher.
