The first screen after signing in, headed "Here's an overview of your school today." It is built to answer one question: what needs my attention right now?

Across the top

Five counters:

  • Total students and Total teachers — headcount for the school.
  • Student attendance — the share who signed in today.
  • Staff attendance — the same for teachers and staff.
  • Behavioural incidents — open incidents waiting for review.

Below them, Attendance now groups people into In today, Not yet today and Away 7+ days. The last group is the one to act on: a student absent from Asai for a week may simply be unwell, or may have stopped using the platform entirely.

Then, in order

  • School performance — mastery by measure, with a class-level breakdown.
  • Quick actions — the shortcuts leadership uses most. Generate report currently opens the report builder's "Coming soon" screen.
  • Teaching — classes today, the class timetable, assessments due, curriculum overview, and at-risk students.
  • Upcoming events — from the school calendar, including assessments.
  • Recent activity and Recent notifications — behaviour concerns your teachers logged, and staff requests waiting on you.

What the tiles count

Student attendance here is Asai sign-ins, not a marked class register — there is no register in the product yet. A student marked absent may have been physically present but not logged in. Read it as engagement with the platform, and use Attendance for the breakdown.

When a card is empty

Each card has a deliberate empty state rather than a zero that looks like a fault:

  • No staff yet, No students yet — the roster hasn't been imported.
  • Nobody is at risk / No students at risk — genuinely nobody flagged.
  • Nothing due in the next two weeks — no assessments scheduled.
  • You're all caught up — no notifications.

An empty card is information, not an error. A card that fails to load says so separately.
