Before you start: this tool reads your dashboard selection — Step 1 Curriculum, Step 2 Subject, Step 3 Chapter, Step 4 Topic. Choose all four on the Dashboard first. With nothing selected the screen opens empty, and that is expected, not a fault.
Learn by Chat
Learn by Chat is a normal conversation with ASAI about the topic you selected — except ASAI leads the teaching. It is the fastest way to have something explained in words.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Step 2 · Understand your Topic → Learn by Chat.
It opens a chat window labelled Teach Me at a URL of its own, for example:
/?view=chat&id=<conversation-id>&title=Biology+%E2%80%94+Characteristics+of+living+organismsBecause each lesson gets its own id, you can bookmark one or send the link to someone.
What you see
- Tools and Insights at the top of the window, and two timelines — see Tools, Insights and the Timeline.
- The conversation itself, with ASAI's explanation in the main column.
- Images inline where a diagram helps — for example the MRS GREN mnemonic for the characteristics of living organisms.
- A message box at the bottom for your reply.
What ASAI does
It opens the lesson by naming the topic, then explains it in stages rather than dumping everything at once. Replies commonly include a worked point, a diagram, and then a question back to you to check you followed.
The recall check
If ASAI has concepts scheduled for revision it offers a review before continuing:
You have 6 concepts ready for review — want to do a quick recall check before we continue?
Not now skips ahead to the explanation. Review now starts the recall questions first. This is the link between Learn by Chat and your revision schedule — the same concepts feed Memorize and the Learners Report.
Tips
- Ask for a simpler wording if the first explanation is dense; the conversation remembers what came before.
- Reply in your own words rather than copying — ASAI picks up on gaps and re-teaches them.
- Every lesson is saved to History in the sidebar under the topic name, so you can reopen it later.
