Before you start: Step 5 reads your dashboard selection — Step 1 Curriculum, Step 2 Subject, Step 3 Chapter, Step 4 Topic. Choose all four on the Dashboard first. With nothing selected the chat opens, but ASAI has no topic to build a technique around.

Acronyms

Acronyms and acrostics — the fastest technique of the six to build, and the least useful when the concepts have no usable initials.

What ASAI does first

It reads the key concepts, then offers two or three candidate acronyms or one strong acrostic for you to react to, rather than committing to the first one it thinks of.

  • An acronym is a real word built from first letters — HOMES for the Great Lakes.
  • An acrostic is a sentence where each word starts with a key letter — "My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Noodles" for the planets.

If an acronym refuses to form, ASAI switches to an acrostic instead of forcing a bad word.

The rule that matters

Every letter must map to a concept, and you must be able to expand each one. A mnemonic you can recite but not unpack is a party trick — the building phase exists to close that gap.

How it knows you are done

You can recite the mnemonic and expand every letter into its concept accurately.

ASAI asks for the mnemonic first, then takes the letters apart one at a time and corrects mix-ups.

Good to know

  • Silly and emotional phrases beat clever ones. ASAI is instructed to prefer funny over elegant.
  • Long lists make ugly acronyms. Past roughly eight items, a Memory Palace or the Peg System holds up better.
  • Write the finished mnemonic down somewhere outside the chat — it is the one artefact worth keeping.
