Privacy Policy

ASAI helps students work out what to study next, and many of them are children. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we need it, who can see it and how you stay in control.

1. The short version

  • We collect only what ASAI needs to teach, report progress and stay secure.
  • We never sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
  • A student's progress is visible only to them, their parent and their school.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time, and parents can ask on behalf of their child.

In this policy, "ASAI", "we" and "us" mean Asai Intelligence, which runs asailearning.com and the ASAI app.

2. What we collect

Account details
  • Name and email address
  • Your role (student, parent, teacher or school leader) and the school or class you belong to
  • Sign-in records, used to keep your account secure
Learning activity
  • Your curriculum, subjects and target grades
  • Answers, practice results and topic mastery, which produce your ASAI Score and study plan
  • Conversations with ASAI's study modes, and any notes or files you upload
Pilot applications
  • Name, work email, school name, institution type and country
  • Phone number and a message, if you choose to add them
Technical information
  • Device and browser type, used for security and to fix problems
  • Error and performance logs
  • Usage counts that don't identify you. The website itself sets no tracking cookies.

Our Cookie Policy lists what the website stores in your browser. We don't ask for more than this. Please don't upload documents containing other people's personal data, such as a classmate's work or contact details.

3. How we use it

Teaching
Building your study plan, choosing what to review next and estimating your ASAI Score.
Progress reports
Showing parents their child's progress, and teachers and school leaders their students' progress.
Running the service
Signing you in, answering support requests and replying to pilot applications.
Safety
Protecting accounts, detecting misuse and keeping a record of who accessed what.
Improving ASAI
Using combined figures with names and other identifiers removed to make ASAI more accurate.

We use your data to provide the service you or your school signed up for, to keep it secure, and to meet our legal obligations. Where we need your consent, or a parent's, we ask for it.

4. Children and students

  • Younger students use ASAI with the consent of a parent or guardian, or through their school, which manages consent for its students.
  • We collect only what's needed for learning and progress reports. We don't build advertising profiles.
  • Parents can ask to see their child's data, correct it or have it deleted, using the contact details below.
  • If you think a child is using ASAI without the consent they need, tell us and we'll look into it straight away.

5. Who can see it

  • You: your own account, progress and history.
  • Parents: their own child's progress and weekly reports.
  • Schools: teachers and leaders at your school see progress for the students and classes they are responsible for.
  • Service providers: companies that host ASAI, power its AI features or send our emails. They work under contract, may use the data only to provide their service to us, and must keep it secure.
  • When the law requires it: if we receive a valid legal request, or need to protect someone's safety.

We never sell personal data or share it with advertisers.

6. Keeping it safe

  • Data is encrypted when it travels between your device and ASAI.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open, or while your school uses ASAI. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete the personal data linked to it.

Pilot applications are kept while we're in touch with your school, and deleted on request.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and the UK and EU GDPR give you these rights:

See your data
Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you or your child.
Correct it
Ask us to fix anything that's wrong or out of date.
Delete it
Ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it.
Take it with you
Ask for your learning history in a format you can keep or move to another service.
Withdraw consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This doesn't undo anything done before.
Complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, tell us first. You can also contact your local data protection authority.

To use any of them, email us. We may need to confirm who you are first. If your account belongs to a school, we may pass your request to the school.

9. Changes to this policy

When we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
