ASAI vs flashcard apps (such as Quizlet)

What they're best at
Memorising facts, definitions and vocabulary with quick self-testing. Testing yourself is one of the best-supported study techniques there is.
Where ASAI is different
Flashcards test what is on the cards: you decide which cards to make, and the app decides when to review them. ASAI starts from the exam: it estimates your exam score, finds the topics costing you marks and puts them in today's plan.
Using both
Use ASAI to find your weak topics, then make or use flashcards for the facts inside them. ASAI's Memorize mode does the same kind of recall practice.

ASAI vs private tutors (in person or online)

What they're best at
A person who knows your child, explains things in a different way when they're stuck, and keeps them motivated. For a student who is far behind or has lost confidence, a good tutor can make the biggest difference.
Where ASAI is different
A tutor is there for an hour or two a week. ASAI is there for the rest of the week: any time, for every subject on your plan, showing which topics still need work.
Using both
Bring the topics ASAI flags to tutor sessions, so the hour goes on what's costing marks, and use ASAI between sessions to practise what the tutor taught.

ASAI vs school learning platforms (where teachers set and collect work)

What they're best at
Running a class: sharing materials, setting homework, collecting it and giving feedback. They're the school's system, and they're not going anywhere.
Where ASAI is different
A school platform organises the work that has been set. ASAI works on each student's revision: it finds the topics each student is losing marks on, and gives principals, coordinators and teachers a dashboard of the same picture.
Using both
Keep the school platform for teaching and homework. ASAI sits alongside it as the revision layer. Schools can try it through our Pilot Program.
